The Georgetown University women's golf team shot a 19-over par 307 in the third round and finished in eighth place at the 37th Annual Nittany Lion Invitational, hosted by Penn State in State College, Pa.
Kent State shot a 3-over par 291 in the final round and topped the 14-team field with a 54-hole score of 9-over par 873, four shots ahead of second place Yale (13-over par 877). Host Penn State finished in third place at 23-over par 887, while Columbia placed fourth (29-over par 893) and Old Dominion finished in fifth place (43-over par 907).
Longwood finished in sixth place (51-over par 915), with William & Mary in seventh place (52-over par 916). The Hoyas placed eighth with a three round score of 55-over par 919.
Sophomore Mackenzie Boydston (Keller, Texas/Nolan Catholic) shot a 1-over par 73 in the final round, the team's second-best individual score of the tournament, and tied for 20th place at 11-over par 227.
Senior Alice Choi (Whitestone, N.Y./Bayside) posted a 5-over par 77 in Sunday's round and tied for 28th place at 13-over par 229.
Sophomore Liz DiVincentis (Durham, Conn./Coginchaug Regional) tied for 50th place at 19-over par 235, sophomore Patricia Lee (Lone Tree, Colo./Highlands Ranch) tied for 53rd place at 20-over par 236 and freshman Jenny Xiao (Foshan, China/Foshan No. 3 Middle School) tied for 65th place at 24-over par 240. Freshman Kelly Hwang (Moorestown, N.J./IMG Academy) shot a 38-over par 254 and tied for 89th place.
Georgetown is back in action next from Oct. 7-9 competing at the Birdies for Breast Cancer in Riverside, Calif.
