Georgetown carded a first round score of 29-over par 317 and two players are among the top-10 overall as the Hoyas women's golf team is in fifth place among nine teams after the first day of play at the Lehigh Invitational, being played at the Grace Course at Saucon Valley Country Club in Pennsylvania.
The start of the tournament was delayed an hour due to frost and teams battled cool, breezy conditions on the day.
Harvard shot a 15-over par 303 in the first round to lead the field, with Seton Hall second at 18-over par 306. Princeton and Boston University tied for third place at 22-over par 310 and the Hoyas rounded out the top-five, seven strokes back.
Sophomore Liz DiVincentis (Durham, Conn./Coginchaug Regional) and sophomore Patricia Lee (Lone Tree, Colo./Highlands Ranch) are tied for eighth place in the individual standings with scores of 5-over par 77 to lead the Hoyas.
Freshman Kelly Hwang (Moorestown, N.J./IMG Academy) is tied for 22nd place at 9-over par 81, sophomore Mackenzie Boydston (Keller, Texas/Nolan Catholic) is one shot back, in a tie for 26th place at 10-over par 82, and senior Stefanie Soelling (Everett, Wash./Everett) is tied for 30th place at 11-over par 83.
The final round will be held on Tuesday.
