WASHINGTON - The Georgetown women's golf team continues its spring season this weekend, competing in the JMU/Eagle Landing Invitational, being held in Orange Park, Florida, near Jacksonville.

Head Coach Katie Brophy and her team departed for Florida on Monday. Throughout the trip, members of the team will be providing updates for guhoyas.com. Today's is from freshman Kelly Hwang (Mooreston, N.J./IMG Academy).

"We finally made it to the Sunshine State! It was an adventure trying to fit eight travel golf bags and nine suitcases into a van, but like always, the job was done. We had a nice and quick flight and the 80 degree weather was definitely a warm welcome.

"We made a quick stop at Dairy Queen for an ice cream treat before heading out to the course. The team got to practice at Eagle's Landing until sunset. The course looks like it is in great condition and we are excited to go low this weekend!

"We wrapped the day up with a nice team meal at Olive Garden and we're all set for tomorrow's beach day. Jacksonville, here we come! HOYA SAXA!"
