WASHINGTON - The Georgetown women's golf team continues its spring season this weekend, competing in the JMU/Eagle Landing Invitational, being held in Orange Park, Florida, near Jacksonville.
Head Coach Katie Brophy and her team departed for Florida last Monday. Throughout the trip, members of the team will be providing updates for guhoyas.com. Today's is from senior Alice Choi (Whitestone, N.Y./Bayside).
"Today was the second day of the JMU/Eagle Landing Invitational. The Hoyas had a positive mindset while warming up on the driving range and putting green on this beautiful Saturday morning.
"Freshman, Kelly Hwang was the first to tee off at the 10th hole this morning. The Hoyas definitely started off strong and enjoyed playing at Eagle Landing Golf Course for the third time this week. However, the conditions today were more difficult than the first round because the tees were moved back and the pin placements were more challenging.
"After the round was over, we headed to the driving range and putting green once more to prepare for the last round. We got in a solid practice and headed back to our host family's house. Our host family, the Hills, made the team a delicious steak dinner. After a long day, we relaxed on the patio while watching a few movies and mentally preparing for the final round of the JMU Invitational. HOYA SAXA!"
