Women's Golf Signs Two to National Letters of Intent

WASHINGTON - Georgetown University Women's Golf Head Coach Kate Schanuel has announced the addition of two student-athletes who signed their National Letters of Intent (NLI) to join the women's golf program. Baili Park, a native of Germantown, Tenn., and Samantha Yi from San Diego will both arrive to the Hilltop next fall as members of the Georgetown Class of 2022.

"I am really excited to announce Baili Park and Samantha Yi as new members of our family. They both have competitive experience on the national level and are superb students in the classroom. I expect they will make an immediate impact."

Germantown, Tenn. / Houston
Enjoyed a successful four-year career at Houston High School ... As a senior, helped lead Houston to an undefeated season in 2017 and a team state championship ... Individually, placed second at the district, regional and state championships ... As a junior, scored an even par or better in each of her high school matches ... Took home medalist honors in the district and regional championships as both a freshman and sophomore ... Helped lead Houston its first team state championship as a sophomore ... Over the summer before senior year, won the GolfWeek Junior Tour Championship, shooting an even par, and had four other top 10 finishes in American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) events ... Finished her high school career ranked 58th among the Class of 2018 in the Junior Golf Scoreboard Rankings, and the fifth-rated player overall in Tennessee ... In the classroom, was a member of the National Honors Society.

Samantha Yi
San Diego, Calif. / Rancho Bernardo
Served as the team captain for Rancho Bernardo High School for each of her final two years ... Made the winning putt as a junior to lead Rancho Bernardo to its first ever San Diego California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Sectional Tournament victory ... Named to the all-league first team as a sophomore and All-CIF First Team as a freshman ... Qualified for the state championships as an individual as a freshman and a sophomore ... Qualified for USGA Girls Junior Championship in 2016 and 2017 ... Over the summer before senior year, had two top 10 finishes in American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) events ... Finished her high school career ranked 129th among the Class of 2018 the Junior Golf Scoreboard Rankings ... In the classroom, was a member of the National Honors Society.
