Women's Lacrosse Named to Two Additional Preseason Polls

The Georgetown University women's lacrosse squad has earned two additional rankings for the 2012 season. The Hoyas were selected No. 13 in The deBeer Women's Media Preseason Poll and No. 15 by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association. The Blue & Gray will open the season on February 29 at home against Delaware.
Women's Lacrosse Announces 2012 Television Schedule

The Georgetown University women's lacrosse squad has announced its 2012 television schedule which will include four appearances locally on Verizon FiOS and three on CBS Sports Network. Georgetown finished last season with a record of 9-8 after winning the BIG EAST Regular Season Championship for the fourth-consecutive year.

The Georgetown University women's lacrosse team was narrowly picked to finish first in the BIG EAST by the league's coaches in the 2012 preseason poll released Friday. Senior Kelly Barnes (St. Davids, Pa./Radnor) and juniors Kelsi Bozel (Hunt Valley, Md./Notre Dame Prep), Dina Jackson (Potomac, Md./Bullis) and Sophia Thomas (Lutherville, Md./Maryvale Prep) were selected as a part of the 16-member Preseason All-BIG EAST Team.

The Georgetown University women's lacrosse squad has already earned a pair of rankings for the 2012 season. The Hoyas were selected No. 12 in the Inside Lacrosse Preseason Poll and No. 17 by Lacrosse Magazine. The Blue & Gray will open the season on February 29 at home against Delaware.
Barnes and Thomas Named Preseason All-Americans

Two Georgetown University women's lacrosse players have been named to the Inside Lacrosse Preseason Division I All-American list which came out on Wednesday. Senior Kelly Barnes (St. Davids, Pa./Radnor) and junior Sophia Thomas (Lutherville, Md./Maryvale Prep) were both named to the third team and two of 36 student-athletes selected throughout the nation.
