Women's Lacrosse to Host Spring Clinic and Youth Camps

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University Head Women's Lacrosse Coach Ricky Fried will host a Spring Clinic on Sunday, April 6 for girls in grades 8-12. Additionally, the Hoyas have opened registration for their summer camps including a youth camp, overnight camp, goalie camp and team camp.
The Spring Clinic will be Sunday, April 6 from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m., at Multi-Sport Field. It is for girls in grades 8-12 and will including offensive, defensive and goalkeeping strategies. Campers can register here, the cost is $65.
Georgetown will have a number of girls lacrosse camps this summer including
Hoya Youth/Middle School Camp
The Georgetown Middle School/Youth Camp is offered for the young lacrosse player looking to improve her skills. The Middle School Camp will be high level instruction focused on mastering the fundamentals of the game and broadening lacrosse knowledge. Sessions will be focused on individual skills, team concepts and full field play.
The Hoya Youth camp will be geared towards players who are less experienced and beginner lacrosse players. Each day will focus on the development of fundamental skills and understanding of the game.
There will be specific goalie training led by Georgetown Assistant Coach Meg Dentler.
Georgetown LAX Camp
The Georgetown Hoyas Women's Lacrosse Camp is specifically designed for motivated and experienced lacrosse players who are looking to prepare themselves for the next level. Training sessions will be intense and challenging, and will provide campers with plenty of "hands-on" coaching by our experienced staff. Campers will also have daily opportunities to scrimmage and participate in game situations.
The camp will run from June 30 - July 2, 2014 and is designed for experienced players entering grades 7 - 12. Graduated high school senior are welcome as well.
A typical day will consist of skill sessions, team concepts/situational play, competition, small-sided games and tournament play.
Two goalie training sessions will be taught by Dentler. The program will run in conjunction with the Hoyas Women's Camp. Goalies will also be assigned to all scrimmage situations and placed on a team during tournament play. Goalies must supply their equipment.
Coaches can sign up their squad for team camp which will run June 30-July 2.
