Black and Franklin Named to BIG EAST Honor Roll

WASHINGTON - Senior goalkeeper Barb Black (Ruxton, Md./St. Paul's School for Girls) and senior midfielder Hannah Franklin (Phoenix, Md./McDonogh School) were both named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll Monday after leading the Hoyas to a 1-0 week in the season opener. These are No. 10/9 Georgetown's first weekly awards so far this season.

Black began the season 1-0 after making two saves in the Hoyas' 19-11 win over Delaware on Saturday. She managed an 11.87 goals against average in 50 minutes of play and faced 15 total shots.

It is the third weekly honor of Black's career.

Franklin led GU in scoring with four goals and one assist for five points on Saturday. She scored on all four shots on goal and had five total shots in the game.

It is the second-career BIG EAST weekly award for Franklin.

Georgetown will be back in action on Saturday at No. 19/19 Towson University in a 3 p.m., matchup at Unitas Stadium. Live stats and a webcast will be available through the Tigers' athletic website.
