On Monday, junior midfielder Sophia Thomas (Lutherville, Md./Maryvale Prep) was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll after leading the team to a 2-0 week including a pair of BIG EAST Conference road victories. This was Thomas' second weekly honor and the fifth honor roll award for the Hoyas so far this season.
Thomas tallied eight points, including six goals in a 2-0 week. She scored five goals in a 19-11 win over Louisville and one goal along with one assist in a 22-4 win over Cincinnati. Thomas also had a caused turnover in the victory against the Bearcats.

Junior Michelle Tumolo tied her career high with eight points to lead No. 2/2 Syracuse (9-2, 3-0 BIG EAST), to a 22-4 victory against No. 10 Dartmouth on Monday. The Orange posted its second-highest goal total of the season and its largest margin of victory as it extended its winning streak to eight games. Syracuse posted its fourth win against a top 10-ranked opponent in 2012, which is a first for the program since it began in 1998.
Sophomore attacker Alyssa Murray is leading the team in scoring with 54 points on 37 goals and 17 assists this season. Tumolo has added 26 goals and a squad-best 21 assists for 47 points.

Two years ago, GU went 2-1 against the Orange, defeating them at the Carrier Dome, 10-9, in the regular season and in the BIG EAST Tournament at Rutgers, 13-11, before falling, 15-8, at home in the NCAA Tournament.
