WASHINGTON - Sophomore women's lacrosse defender Adrianne Devine (Loudonville, N.Y./Shaker) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll earlier today. It is the eighth week this season that a Hoya has earned a spot on the honor roll and the first for Devine in her career.
Devine helped the Hoya defense limit two straight opponents to only five goals apiece. It was the first time the Hoyas held two consecutive opponents to five goals or less since 2011 against Yale and Cincinnati. Georgetown defeated Rutgers last Friday by a 13-5 score and was victorious at Villanova 6-5. Devine totaled three ground balls, two caused turnovers and one draw control on the week.
In her second season with the Blue and Gray Devine has been a starter in all 14 games this year. She is first on the squad in ground balls with 21 and the leader in caused turnovers with 16. Devine is fourth in draw controls and notched her first career assist at North Carolina.
The Hoyas come home for the first time in four weeks to face No. 16 Connecticut this Friday, April 26, at 4 p.m. Then on Sunday, April 28, Georgetown hosts No. 5 Syracuse on Senior Day, Sunday, April 28, at 1 p.m. Both games will be played at Multi-Sport Field.
