WASHINGTON - Senior goalkeeper Caitlin Formby (Towson, Md./Notre Dame Prep) was named the BIG EAST Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week on Monday. This is her first weekly award after a number of career nods to the weekly honor role. Formby and the Hoyas had a big week going 2-0 to finish conference play undefeated.

The wins marked the first time this season that Georgetown has defeated back-to-back nationally-ranked squads. The Hoyas are 11-5 on the year and finished 8-0 in conference play to win the BIG EAST Regular Season Championship and earn the top seed in the conference tournament.
The victories were also continued an eight-game win streak, one shy of the program record.
