Lynch Named IWLCA All-South Region

WASHINGTON - Georgetown University sophomore midfielder Natalia Lynch (Smithtown, N.Y./Smithtown West) was named Second Team All-South Region by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coach's Association (IWLCA) on Friday. This is her first-career IWLCA honor.

Lynch was a First Team All-BIG EAST honoree. She was GU’s team MVP this season after making a huge impact on both ends of the field. She ranks third on the team in scoring with 25 goals and 14 assists for 39 points. Lynch also leads the Blue & Gray in draw controls and caused turnovers with 81 and 23, respectively. This is her first career honor.

Lynch sits at No. 8 on the all-time list for career draw controls (102) and is second in the season ranking with 81 in 2018.

She was named the BIG EAST Midfielder of the Week on April 17, and to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on April 3. This is her first career honor.

The Hoyas fell to the Virginia Tech Hokies, 13-10, in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday afternoon in Raleigh, N.C. Georgetown finished the season with a mark of 12-7 and returns its top five scorers in 2019.
