Jenifer Forbes begins her first season as Assistant Coach of the Georgetown Women's Rowing team. Prior to joining Georgetown, Forbes was in elite training at the Oklahoma City National High Performance Training Center. No stranger to international competition, Forbes won a bronze medal in the Women's Eight during the 2011 U23 World Rowing Championships. Jen is taking a hiatus away from training to rehabilitate a back injury and focus on coaching.

"We are very lucky to have someone of Jen's caliber joining our staff," said Head Coach Miranda Paris. "Having coached her and worked with her as an athlete, I know the kind of character, work ethic and skill she will bring to this job. It's a great fit."

As an undergraduate, Forbes was a four-year member of the Varsity Eight at Northeastern University, where she worked with then-assistant coach Miranda Paris as her Novice Coach. Alongside her teammates, Forbes helped Northeastern to three CAA Championships. She was named Second Team All-American in 2010, First Team All-New England in 2010 and 2011, and captained the team during her senior year. During Forbes' tenure, Northeastern saw its first win against Harvard since 1998, a first-ever Beanpot title, and a fifth-place finish in the Championship Eights race at the 2010 Head of the Charles.

Forbes began her coaching career teaching learn-to-row classes while still an athlete at Northeastern. While training in Oklahoma, she coached novice and intermediate rowers for the Oklahoma Riversport Corporate League. Forbes also assisted in coaching two aspiring paralympic rowers at the Oklahoma City National High Performance Training Center in 2013. A Dean's List student, Forbes graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Environmental Science in 2012. She is also an AAUS Scientific SCUBA Diver.
