Varsity Lightweight Coach

James Newcombe was named as an assistant coach for the Georgetown women's rowing team in September, 2011.

A native of Princeton, NJ, Newcombe captained the Mercer Junior Rowing team to a National Championship.

Newcombe competed at Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH for four years before joining the Georgetown team. At Dartmouth, Newcombe lead the lightweight team to their best record in recent history, including a 5-1 dual racing season, a silver medal at the Eastern Springs Regatta and a bronze at the IRA National Championships.
