Stephen Full was named as an assistant coach for the Georgetown University women's rowing team in September, 2011.
Full served as the head coach of the Vashon Island Rowing Club, were his team medaled in twelve out of seventeen events including six gold medals.
Prior to Georgetown, Full was an assistant coach at his alma mater the University of Washington where his responsibilities included coaching novice rowers and freshman walk-ons. That year Full helped coach the Huskies freshman team to an undefeated season.
Full was also an assistant at the Lake Union Crew club where he trained rowers of all skills and ability levels, seeing great improvement in each of his boats.
A four-year letterwinner at the University of Washington, Full and his team accomplished two pac-10 championships in his tenure as well as first place in the Head of the Charles in 2006. Internationally, Full has competed in the Golden Boat race in Russia where he earned gold in 2007 as well as the Great Race held in New Zealand.
Before college, Full rowed three years for Tabor Academy in Marion, Massachusetts.
Full's coaching philosophy aligns with Georgetown's philosophy in academics: "As a coach, I want to educate the whole rower; I want your experience as a rower to be more than just the basics, more than just training. Rowing in college should be a valuable experience that you carry with you for the rest of your life."
