Georgetown Women's Rowing Places Two Boats in the Top Six in the Nation

CHERRY HILL, N.J. - The Georgetown University women's rowing team finished competition at the 108th Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) Championship Regatta on Saturday morning, as the women's lightweight varsity eight and the women's lightweight varsity four both placed sixth in the Grand Finals, good for sixth places finishes in the country for both crews.

The Hoyas' lightweight varsity eight, consisting of coxswain Juliana Pugliese, stroke Maggie Girard, Kayla McNeill, Morgan McGovern, Laura Donaldson, Lili Meyer, Alex Vezina, Erin Landy, and bow Jacqueline Pasulka finished in a time of 6:50.538 behind Radcliffe and Bucknell. Stanford edged past Wisconsin to capture the gold medal in the event.

The women's lightweight eight finished fifth in last season's IRA Grand Finals.

GU's lightweight varsity four, including coxswain Victoria Stulgis, stroke Hannah Kittle, Kate Finnerty, Emily Fink and bow Katharine Thompson finished in sixth in a time of 7:58.819 behind Radcliffe and Stanford. Loyola edged Wisconsin to win the event.
