Hoyas Place 34 on Patriot League Women's Rowing Academic Honor Roll

July 7, 2017

WASHINGTON - A record-tying 34 Georgetown University student-athletes were named to the Patriot League Women's Rowing Academic Honor Roll, as announced by the league office on Friday. The 34 Hoyas tie a program record set during the Blue & Gray's inaugural season competing in the Patriot League in 2014.

The Patriot League Academic Honor Roll is yet another example of the exemplary academic success of the GU women's rowing team during the 2016-17 campaign. Georgetown had previously claimed the 2017 Patriot League Corvias Women's Rowing Scholar-Athlete with Christina Johnson (N'17) as well as a trio of academic all-league selections with Johnson, Margaret Dunne (N'17) and Sabrina Gosman (C'17).

Nine Hoyas were also tabbed National Scholar-Athletes by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association, including Johnson, Dunne, Gosman, Kayla Giger (Lebanon, Ind./Brebeuf Jesuit Prep), Isabelle Hupez (Washington, D.C./National Cathedral School), Cate O'Leary (St. Paul, Minn./Convent of the Visitation School), Alexandra Porrazzo (C'17), Abigail Reinhold (Reston, Va./South Lakes) and Lily Tyndall (Harrisburg, N.C./Hickory Ridge).

Additionally, both Dunne and Gosman were named Phi Beta Kappa this year.
