WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Georgetown University women’s soccer team (6-8-1, 2-4) scored four goals in the final 20 minutes of play to overcome an early and long-lasting Liberty lead, giving the Hoyas their first win in six games.
Liberty took the lead 10 minutes into the game on a free kick by Lauren Zealand. As GU goalkeeper Jade Higgins (Fr., Island Park, N.Y./West Hempstead) and Liberty’s Kendall Bartholomew battled for position in front of the goal, Zealand’s kick sailed past them both and into the net for the score.

Nicole DePalma (Sr., Thiells, N.Y./North Rockland) converted the penalty kick and the Hoyas tied the score at 1.
