Lauren O'Leary Earns BIG EAST Softball Weekly Honors

Sophomore Lauren O'Leary won four games en route to making the BIG EAST Honor Roll this week

WASHINGTON - Sophomore pitcher Lauren O'Leary (La Canada, Calif./La Canada) has been selected to the BIG EAST Softball Weekly Honor Roll for her performance on the mound this week. The Hoyas went 5-0 with two wins over Princeton University and a three game sweep over BIG EAST opponent Villanova University. This is the second consecutive week that the Hoyas have placed a player on the Weekly Honor Roll.

O'Leary made an appearance in all five games this week, earning wins in four of them and a save in the other. Her most dominant performance came in Georgetown's first game against Villanova, where she threw seven shutout innings, allowed five hits and had nine strikeouts in a 2-0 victory. O'Leary finished the week with a 4-0 record and a 1.35 ERA with 22 strikeouts in 20.2 innings pitched.

Georgetown plays George Mason on March 27th and Towson on March 28th this week, before returning to Guy Mason Field for their next home game against BIG EAST opponent Notre Dame on April 3rd.
