WASHINGTON - After five consecutive games on the road, the Hoyas return to Guy Mason Field this weekend for a three games with BIG EAST opponent Syracuse University. Georgetown most recently split a Wednesday doubleheader with UConn and won one of three in Piscataway, N.J. against Rutgers last weekend.

Syracuse won the most recent matchup with the Hoyas, a 9-0 shutout on April 26, 2012. The Orange have a 13-20 overall record, going 1-5 in BIG EAST play this season. The team was most recently swept by DePaul last weekend in their home opening series at the SU Softball Stadium.

Georgetown is currently 5-5 in BIG EAST play, sixth in the conference, with 14 games remaining on the regular season schedule. A doubleheader is scheduled for Saturday, April 13, against the Orange with game times scheduled for noon and 2 p.m., along with the third game of the series scheduled for noon on Sunday, April 14.

Lauren O'Leary (La Canada, Calif./La Canada) and Megan Hyson (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake) will once again do the pitching for the Hoyas, while Alexandria Anttila (Antioch, Ill./Antioch Community) and senior captain Shikara Lowe (Beaverton, Ore./Jesuit) look to continue their strong play at the plate.
