Georgetown Softball Travels to Towson for Thursday Game

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University softball team (17-26, 2-9 BIG EAST) will hit the road for a makeup game against the Towson Tigers (20-22) that was originally scheduled for March 27 at Guy Mason Field. The Hoyas and Tigers will meet on Thursday, April 19 at 4 p.m.

The Blue & Gray won their first two BIG EAST Conference games in a series win over St. John's last weekend. Freshmen pitchers Megan Hyson (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake) and Lauren O'Leary (La Canada, Calif./La Canada) led the doubleheader win on Saturday, throwing a combined 13 strikeouts, walking two batters and giving up just two runs. The Red Storm out-hit the Hoyas 12-8 in the doubleheader on Saturday. St. John's took the final game of the series 2-1 on Sunday with a comeback in the bottom of the seventh.

Shikara Lowe (Beaverton, Ore./Jesuit) leads the Hoyas, batting (.309), on base percentage (.465), hits (34) and RBI's (21). The junior catcher is in a three-way tie in the BIG EAST for first in walks with 23, helping to rank her fifth in the conference in on base percentage.

Sophomore outfielder Elyse Graziano (Floral Park, N.Y./Sacred Heart Academy) has posted eleven stolen bases and eleven sacrifice bunts to complement a team-high .280 batting average and seven hits in BIG EAST conference games.

TOWSON: The Tigers are currently on a two-game winning streak after taking the series against UNC-Wilmington. Towson is batting .252 with CAA Rookie of the Week Hailey Balk leading the Tigers batting .388.

Georgetown softball will return to BIG EAST play this weekend at Guy Mason Field for a three-game series against Providence.
