WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Georgetown University softball team will host the Hoyas Softball Fall Clinic on Saturday, November 15 and Sunday, November 16 at Guy Mason Field in Washington, D.C.
During the fall clinic the Hoyas coaching staff will hold four sessions, giving instruction to pitchers and hitters of a variety of skill levels during the different sessions, including:
Beginner & Intermediate Pitching (Nov. 15, 10 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.)
Advanced Pitching (Nov. 16, 10 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.)
Beginner & Intermediate Hitting (Nov. 15, 1:30 p.m.-4 p.m.)
Advanced Hitting (Nov. 16, 1:30 p.m.-4 p.m.)
The beginner and intermediate sessions will focus on proper mechanics and techniques, while the more in-depth advanced sessions will teach skills to help players take their game to the next level.
The clinic will be led by the Hoyas fourth year head coach Pat Conlan, who brings 15 seasons of coaching experience, including time at North Carolina State, University of Connecticut and Fairfield University, where she was named the MAAC Coach of the Year in 1997. Conlan played at Connecticut, where she led the Huskies to a fifth-place finish in the 1993 Womens' College World Series. In 1993 Conlan earned All-American status and was named BIG EAST Pitcher of the Year in addition to earning first team All BIG EAST honors.
Conlan will be assisted by second year GU Assistant Coach Lauren May. At Cornell University, May was a two-time Ivy League Player of the Year (2004, 2005) and the 2002 Ivy League Rookie of the Year. During her career with the Big Red, May set 18 school records, including batting average, home runs and RBI's.
