WASHINGTON – The Georgetown women’s tennis team (1-5) dropped their match against Boston University (3-1) on Sunday afternoon, 5-1. The Hoyas played two matches in Massachusetts this weekend. The Blue & Gray lost yesterday evening to Boston College, 5-2.
Georgetown has three women from Massachusetts; senior co-captain Kelly Comolli (Newburyport, Mass./Phillips Exeter Academy), junior Sophie Panarese (Milton, Mass./Milton Academy) and freshman Margaret Psyhogeos (Wellesley, Mass./Noble and Greenough).
Freshman Victoire Saperstein (Las Vegas, Nev./Odyssey Charter School) grabbed the only win for the Hoyas against Boston University when she defeated Kim McCallum in the No. 6 position, 6-3; 6-4. Sapertein won one of two singles matches yesterday for Georgetown against Boston College. Her wins against BC and BU mark her first two singles victories of her collegiate career.
The women’s tennis team faces BIG EAST opponent St. John’s next Fri., Feb. 7 at home in Washington, D.C. at 11 a.m.
