WASHINGTON – The Georgetown women’s tennis team (2-7) improved its record on Saturday night with a 6-1 win over Montana State University-Bozeman in Alexandria, Va.
The Hoyas won two of three doubles matches to earn the point before singles play began. Sophomore Liselot Koenen (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles North) and freshman Victoire Saperstein (Las Vegas, Nev./Odyssey Charter School) earned their second doubles victory as a pair with a 8-0 win. Senior Madeline Jaeger (Laguna Beach, Calif./Laguna Beach) and junior Sophie Panarese (Milton, Mass./Milton Academy) defeated a Montana State pair, 8-3, in their first pairing together on the season.
Saperstein played in the No. 1 position for the first time of her collegiate career and earned a victory over Laura Middel in straight sets.
Senior co-captain Kelly Comolli (Newburyport, Mass./Phillips Exeter Academy) defeated Montana State’s Ellie Crum, 6-3, 6-1, in the No. 3 position.
Freshman Sophia Barnard (Mill Neck, N.Y./Portledge School) played out of the No. 4 position and won in straight sets.
Panarese earned a singles victory from the No. 5 position in addition to her doubles victory.
Freshman Madeline Foley (Salt Lake City, Utah/Rowland Hall St. Marks) won, 8-6, in the No. 6 position for the Hoyas over Jessica Brycki.
