WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University women's tennis team fell to Florida Atlantic University on Monday, 6-1. The Hoyas lost to the Owls in Boca Raton, Florida at the FAU Tennis Complex. With the loss, the Hoyas hold a 1-6 record on the season.

Senior Daphne de Chatellus (Tiburon, Calif./Redwood) earned the point for GU, defeating her opponent, Kristen Thoms, 4-6, 6-3, 6-3. Senior Drew Spinosa (Claremont, Calif./Claremont) and junior Cecilia Lynham (Chevy Chase, Md./Holton Arms School) both came close to earning victories, but lost in their final sets. Spinosa fell to Natalia Boltinskaya, 5-7, 7-5, 7-6, and Lynham lost to Jennifer Leib, 6-3, 4-6, 10-2.

The Blue & Gray will play again on Thursday, March 8, at Barry in Miami Shores, Florida. The match is set for 10 a.m.
