WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University women's tennis program (11-4) won its fourth straight tennis match with a 5-2 victory against Morgan State at home on Saturday afternoon. The Hoyas have now won five of their last seven matches and are 4-1 at the McDonough Outdoor Tennis Complex.
Georgetown won easily at second and third doubles, 8-1 and 8-0, to start the match.
Kelly Comolli (Newburyport, Mass./Philips Exeter Academy) and Nora Montgomery (Winnetka, Ill./Loyola Academy) were 6-0, 6-0 winners on court two and six, respectively. Madeline Jaeger (Laguna Beach, Calif./Laguna Beach) earned a 6-2, 6-0 victory on court three while Taylor Perz (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine-Richland) was credited with a win after her opponent retired with Perz up 5-2 in the first set.
Morgan State earned its two wins with retirements, as GU's Victoria Sekely (Mississaga, Ontario/Lone Park Secondary School) retired at one singles and Elizabeth Hamlin (Haverford, Pa./The Episcopal School) retired at fifth singles.
Georgetown carries a 2-2 conference record into its next match on Wednesday, April 3, at Villanova. Match time is 1 p.m.
