WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University women's tennis program (13-4) continued its winning streak with a 4-3 win over East Carolina earlier today. It is the sixth straight win for the Hoyas and increased their home record to 5-1.

Graduate student Elizabeth Hamlin (Haverford, Pa./The Episcopal School) played a marathon match on court five to clinch the win, 7-6 (3), 6-7(2), 7-6(5). It was the second time this season Hamlin carried the Hoyas to victory with a long grueling three set deciding match.

In a tight match where both teams won three singles matches, the difference was the doubles point. In three well played matches the Hoyas were able to win two of three. Madeline Jaeger (Laguna Beach, Calif./Laguna Beach) and Kelly Comolli (Newburyport, Mass./Philips Exeter Academy) left the court first with a 8-4 win at two. Victoria Sekely (Mississaga, Ontario/Lone Park Secondary School) and Hamlin then eked out a 9-8 (2) win on court one.

Sophie Panarese (Milton, Mass./Milton Academy) won her singles match on court four, 6-3, 6-2, giving GU a 2-0 match lead. ECU responded with two victories on courts three and two to tie the match. Sekely then battled back from a 6-2, 5-2 deficit to win on court one 2-6, 7-6 (5), 6-3.

ECU tied the match at three apiece before Hamlin delivered the final match on court five, and secured Georgetown's 4-3 win.
