Georgetown Shuts Out Villanova 7-0

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University women's tennis squad dominated the Villanova University Wildcats Friday afternoon at the McDonough Outdoor Tennis Courts. The Hoyas swept the Wildcats 7-0 to improve to 5-10 on the season.

In doubles, two pairs overtook their opponents with Michelle Pratt (Wyckoff, N.J./Ramapo) and Lauren Greco (Oakmont, Pa./Shady Side Academy) at No. 3 coming away with the easy 8-2 victory. At No. 1, Elizabeth Sullivan (Potomac, Md./National Cathedral School) and Victoria Sekely (Mississaga, Ontario/Lorne Park Secondary School) won a close match 8-6 as Georgetown picked up the point.

The Blue & Gray swept the Wildcats in singles as Sullivan defeated her opponent 6-2, 6-0 at No. 5 and No. 4 Alex Sebia (Plains, Pa./Scranton Prep) won 6-1, 6-2. The Hoyas lost just one set all day going on to defeat the Wildcats 7-0.

GU will have little rest as the squad hosts Connecticut on Saturday.
