WASHINGTON – The Georgetown women’s tennis team (9-10) dropped a match, 4-2, on Friday afternoon at the McDonough Outdoor Tennis Complex on Georgetown’s campus to Old Dominion (11-6) in the final non-conference matchup of the season.
The Hoyas were able to grab two singles matches at home on Friday.
Senior co-captain Kelly Comolli (Newburyport, Mass./Phillips Exeter Academy) earned a win at the No. 2 position after an ODU player was forced to retire with the first set tied at 3-3.
Sophomore Liselot Koenen (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles North) won at the No. 6 position for the Hoyas as she downed Nika Khmolovska of ODU after losing the first set, 6-3. Koenen came back to grab the second (6-4) and third (6-4) sets for the victory. The Georgetown sophomore is now 9-6 on the season with a chance to grab her 10th win on Wednesday.
Georgetown will host Villanova in its season finale, a BIG EAST matchup, on Wed., April 16 on campus with play set to begin at 1 p.m. ET.
