Women's Tennis Opens Spring, Will Play VCU and Campbell

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown women’s tennis team begins the spring play at the 4-1 Invitational on Fri., Jan. 17 in Richmond, Va. at Virginia Commonwealth University.

The women will be playing both the Campbell Camels and the VCU Rams.

Georgetown is scheduled to play the Camels at 11 a.m. and the Rams at 3 p.m.

Each matchup will consist of four singles matches and one doubles match.

Georgetown lost to VCU last year, but defeated Campbell, 3-2.

The Hoyas have four returners who played in the Invitational last season: senior co-captains Madeline Jaeger (Laguna Beach, Calif./Laguna Beach) and Kelly Comolli (Newburyport, Mass./Phillips Exeter Academy), junior Sophie Panarese (Milton, Mass./Milton Academy) and sophomore Taylor Perz (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine-Richland).

Both Campbell and VCU are returning five of the six who participated in the event last season.
