Women's Tennis Announces 2012-13 Schedule

WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University women's tennis squad released its 2012-13 schedule on Wednesday afternoon.

The Hoyas start the 2012-13 season locally at the Mary Washington Tournament September 14-15. The Blue & Gray will then host the Georgetown Classic September 21-22 before ITA Regionals in Blacksburg, Va., October 18-23 which will conclude fall play.

Georgetown will begin spring matches on February 1 at Duquesne University, before facing the University of Pittsburgh the following day in a BIG EAST contest. The Hoyas will then host George Washington University on February 9 and Temple University on February 13, before another conference matchup against Providence College in Annapolis, Md., on March 1.

For spring break, the squad will travel to Florida to face Lynn University on March 7 in Boca Raton, Fla.

This will be followed by four-consecutive home matches against James Madison University, Bryant University, the College of William & Mary as well as the U.S. Naval Academy on March 19.

Georgetown will travel to the University of Richmond on March 21, before a pair of BIG EAST road contests against Seton Hall and Villanova.

Four home matches round out the regular season as the Hoyas will host the University of California (Pa.), East Carolina University and UMBC, before hosting Rutgers University in a conference matchup for senior day on April 13.

The BIG EAST Tournament is scheduled for April 18-20 in Tampa, Fla., for the second-consecutive year.

The tennis team will begin practice as school begins and the team will be selected in the first weeks of the fall season.
