Hoyas Open 2004 Cross Country Season with a Home Meet at The Plains on September 11

The Georgetown University men and womenís cross country team will host a home meet on Saturday, September 11, at The Plains, Va.  In addition to the Hoyas, the men and womenís squads from Yale, Duke and James Madison will be participating in the meet, while American will send its menís squad only.

          The womenís race will go off at 9:00 a.m., and the menís will follow at 9:45 a.m.  To reach the race course, take 66 West until you reach Exit 31 marked The Plains and follow the signs.

          The Hoya menís team won the 2003 BIG EAST Cross Country Championships, placed second at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Championships and finished seventh at the NCAA Cross Country Championship.  The Georgetown women took third place at the BIG EAST Championships last year, then went on to capture the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Championship.  The GU women were 16th at the NCAAís.
