Georgetown Earns Third Place at 2002 NCAA Pre-National Cross Country Meet


Terre Haute, Ind. – The Georgetown University women’s cross-country team, ranked No. 3 in the nation, posted a third-place finish at the 2002 NCAA Pre-Nationals held at Indiana State University on Saturday, October 19. Brigham Young cruised to victory in the women’s blue team race with 55 points, out of a field of 38 teams.  Colorado earned runner-up honors with 143 points, followed by the Hoyas with 175 points and Wisconsin in fourth place with 207.  Missouri and Duke tied for fifth place with 209 points. 

Two sophomores led the Hoyas in the meet. Nicole Lee crossed the finish line of the 8000-meter course in 21:05.2, good for 22nd place.  Jodee Adams-Moore (Bellevue, Wash./Newport) was four places back in 26th place with a mark of 21:10.9.  Erin Sicher (Jr., College Park, Md./Good Counsel) ran 21:25.8 to take 37th place, while Treniere Clement (Jr., Stow, Ohio/Stow-Monroe Falls) claimed 40th place with a time of 21:29.1.  Sarah Scholl (Jr., New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan) rounded out the GU point scorers with a 50th-place finish in 21:36.6.
