Volleyball Drops BIG EAST Match at St. John’s

WASHINGTON - Georgetown University’s volleyball team fell 3-0 (25-16, 25-15, 25-15) on the road at St. John’s in BIG EAST action on Wednesday night. The Hoyas fall to 7-12 overall and 1-6 in league play.

Symone Speech (Oak Park, Ill./Oak Park-River Forest) led the Hoyas with six kills while Alyssa Sinnette (Pearland, Texas/Dawson) added five and both Aima Eichie (Castle Rock, Colo./Rock Canyon/UC Davis) and Meghan Richard (Firestone, Colo./Niwot/Seattle) chipped in four.

Kenzie Higareda (Woodbridge, Va./Forest Park) hauled in eight digs while Richard was credited with three blocks.

Kayley Wood led St. John’s (11-12, 3-5 BIG EAST) with nine kills.

The Hoyas return to the friendly confines of McDonough Arena to close out the first half of BIG EAST play this weekend. Georgetown hosts DePaul on Saturday and Marquette on Sunday, with both matches slated for a 2 p.m. first serve.
