GU Volleyball Holds Annual Awards Banquet

Washington, D.C. - The Georgetown University volleyball team and the Side Out Club held the Annual Georgetown Volleyball Awards Banquet on Saturday, January 20 at the Leavey Center on Georgetown's campus. The banquet honored five student-athletes for their superior achievements on and off the court.
Senior captain Annie Connor (Los Altos, Calif./St. Francis) was honored with the Justine Metz Blocking Award as she recorded 19 block solos on the year as well as 80 block assists for 99 total blocks. Connor was also named the Hitting Percentage Leader with a .243 hitting percentage.
Sophomore Caitlin Boland (Naperville, Ill./Benet Academy) was given the Service Ace Award with 26 aces on the season and the Assist Leader Award as she was credited with 656 assists this year.
Sophomore Jessica Buffum (San Jose, Calif./Lynbrook) was named the Kill Leader on the squad with 340 kills this season and was presented with the Strength and Conditioning Award for her improvement in the weight room.
Freshman Jessica Hardy (Manhattan Beach, Calif./Mira Costa) was the recipient of the Defensive Award for her efforts with 272 digs this year. Rounding out the award winners is junior Kate Fisher (Menlo Park, Calif./Menlo) who took home the Academic Award for her efforts in the classroom.
