WASHINGTON - The Georgetown University track & field team split sites on Friday with a small group traveling to Walnut, Calif., for the Mt. SAC Relays and Princeton, N.J., for the Larry Ellis Invitational.

At the Mt. SAC Relays, the Hoyas showed their strength in the middle distance and distance events with a number of postseason qualifiers in both the 1,500-meter and 5,000-meter runs. A trio of Hoyas qualified for the postseason in the women's 1,500-meter run invitational decision with All-American Rachel Schneider running 4:16.21 to take sixth place. All-American Madeline Chambers was not too far behind in 10th place (4:22.05) while Lauren Borduin's 4:26.37 was enough for 14th place.

All-American and NCAA Champion Emily Infeld ran 15:34.26 to take 11th in the women's 5,000-meter invitational division in her first time out in the event this season. In the open division, Kirsten Kasper ran 16:13.30 to take seventh in the A division followed by Emily Jones timing in at 16:22.43 (13th) and Annamarie Maag running 16:49.29 (24th) in the A section. Kelsey Smith ran 16:49.17 in the B section to finish 16th. All were BIG EAST qualifying times.

All-American Chelsea Cox ran 2:13.41 in the open division of the women's 800-meter run, taking 67th overall.

On the men's side, Andrew Springer ran an impressive 13:48.74 to finish 16th in the 5,000-meter run invitational. In the open division, Mark Dennin ran 13:58.62 to finish sixth in the A section.

Back on the east coast, the Hoyas continued to put forth strong times in the same events as a quintet of Hoyas qualified for the postseason in the men's 1,500-meter and 5,000-meter runs combined.

Miles Schoedler ran 3:49.58 to take 28th place while Bobby Peavey followed up with a time of 3:50.00 (32nd) in the men's 1,500. Brian Manning rounded out the trio timing in at 3:51.44 (41st). The men's 5,000 saw Brian King, competing unattached, run 14:14.91 for 16th place followed by Ben Furcht in 22nd (14:20.85).

In the men's 800 Billy Ledder, competing unattached, ran 1:51.24, a time that tied him for eighth place.

The men's steeplechase saw Max Darrah, competing unattached, run 8:47.82 to take sixth place while Derek Armstrong, also competing unattached, run 9:09.32.

In the women's steeplechase Meaghan Gregory ran 11:09.47 to qualify for the postseason.
