WASHINGTON - Last week, the field for the 106th Millrose Games raised its bar to extraordinary new heights. Significant additions were announced for the Millrose Games on February 16 at the New Balance Track & Field Center at the Armory in New York City. The Millrose fields for men's 60 meter hurdles, women's long jump and men's two mile will include some of track & field's foremost athletes. The additions in the men's two mile run include former Hoya Andrew Bumbalough, an eight-time All-American, among many other highly-touted athletes.

Early commitment and eight-time Wanamaker Mile winner Bernard Lagat learned his field was notably upgraded last week.

Lagat is in one of the most compelling two-mile fields ever assembled. Not only will Lagat be trying to reclaim the American two-mile mark, but also against 2012 American record holder in the steeplechase Evan Jager and former 5,000-meter run American record holder Dathan Ritzenhein.

Rounding out the field are 2009 NCAA Outdoors 1,500-meter champion German Fernandez and Bumbalough, who competed at the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials and represented the United States at the 2011 IAAF World Championships in Daegu, South Korea.

The two-mile field already included 5,000 meters and 10,000 meters 2012 NCAA Champion Cam Levins and NCAA cross country champion Lawi Lalang.

"I couldn't be more excited about how this race is coming together," said Millrose Games Meet Director Ray Flynn.

The 106th Millrose Games will be the second stop of USA Track & Field's nationally televised 2013 Indoor USATF Championship series. The meet will be delivered live on ESPN3 on February 16 and 8-10 p.m. February 17 on ESPN. Time of the live ESPN3 coverage will be announced in coming weeks.
