EUGENE, Ore. - Six members of the Georgetown University track & field team are in Eugene, Ore., for the 2014 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, held at historic Hayward Field and hosted by the University of Oregon from Wednesday, June 11 through Saturday, June 14. Of the six who qualified, four are repeat performers from the 2013 NCAA Championships. The six, comprised of three men and three women, will compete in four events.

All-Americans Rachel Schneider (Dover, N.H./St. Thomas Aquinas) and Chelsea Cox (Manahawkin, N.J./Southern Regional) showcase GU's consistency as the duo have made it to the finals site of outdoor nationals every year of eligibility in their events: the 1,500- and 800-meter run, respectively.

Schneider will compete in the second of a two-heat semifinal on Thursday at 7:45 p.m. ET (4:45 p.m. PT) that features 24 of the country's best runners. The top five from each heat plus the next two fastest times will advance to Saturday's 12-person final.

Cox, who ran back-to-back personal records (PR) at the preliminary meet, will compete in the third of a three-heat semifinal, slated for Wednesday at 7:45 p.m. ET (4:45 p.m. PT). Joining Cox, who makes her fourth-consecutive appearance in the semifinals, will be teammate and 2014 breakout competitor All-American Andrea Keklak (Sudbury, Mass./Lincoln-Sudbury/Princeton) in the first heat. The top two finishers from each heat in addition to the next two fastest times will advance to Friday's final. This will be Keklak's first appearance representing the Blue & Gray at the finals site of outdoor nationals.

All-American Andrew Springer (Westerly, R.I./Westerly) will make a repeat appearance in the finals of the men's 10,000-meter finals, slated for Wednesday at 10:15 p.m. ET (7:15 p.m. PT). In 2013, Springer doubled up in both the 10,000m and the 5,000m and took 13th place in the 10,000m, earning his first All-America accolade.

Also returning to Eugene from just one year ago are All-Americans Max Darrah (South Yarmouth, Mass./Denis Yarmouth Regional) and Dylan Sorensen (Zionsville, Ind./Zionsville). The duo will both compete in the second of a two-heat semifinal on Thursday at 8:35 p.m. ET (5:35 p.m. PT), with the top five from each heat and the next two fastest times advancing to Saturday's final. Sorensen fell just shy in the semifinals in 2013 while Darrah advanced, finishing 11th overall.

With 17 student-athletes from the BIG EAST Conference competing at nationals, Georgetown and Villanova both lead the conference with six competitors apiece. Butler (2), Providence (2) and DePaul (1) make up the rest of the BIG EAST contingent.
